About Us

Who we are

Houston FC is a player-centric, community-based soccer club focused on holistic development, located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Our goal is to help every player reach their full potential on and off the field, gaining valuable life skills and new perspectives through the game of soccer. We aim to prepare players to overcome challenges in their educational ambitions, athletic journeys, careers, and personal lives. At Houston FC, we emphasize character development to provide the best support for each individual in their academic and athletic pursuits.

Our Vision

Houston FC competes in both competitive and developmental matches, actively training and playing locally in the Houston area for 10 months, while also participating in regional and national tournaments, showcases, and other game opportunities. We believe in "playing up"—both for individual players and entire teams—to foster growth on and off the field. Our goal is to guide, challenge, and support young athletes on their academic and athletic journeys, helping them apply lessons rooted in respect, discipline, and commitment. We strive to develop each player into a leader in their chosen field, a pillar of their community, and a catalyst for positive change that inspires others.

Values, culture, and philosophy

At Houston FC, we believe that our athletes are people first and players second. This core principle shapes our soccer culture and philosophy, which is rooted in the values of faith, family, academics, and football. We strive to foster a culture where players embody these values by maintaining the highest standards of behavior and prioritizing commitment to one another through consistent attendance and presence. Our goal is to help players find their purpose by making a positive impact on others, inspiring joy through expression, and demonstrating leadership by example and voice. Commitment to teammates and the community is central to everything we do.

Our soccer culture reflects not just what players do on the field but also how these behaviors connect to life off the field. It is built on four key pillars:

Go forward means taking risks, pursuing ambitions, and working hard to turn ideas into reality, while bringing joy through creativity and expression.
Possession represents the understanding that soccer, like life, involves joys that must be shared, respected, and cared for, including the ball itself and the people around us.
Transition focuses on the ability to adapt and act in moments of change, helping others, communicating effectively, and making the most of ever-changing situations in both the game and life.
Pressing reflects a resilient mindset focused on taking proactive action to change circumstances, responding positively to adversity, and leading by example and voice.

At Houston FC, we believe that players must be challenged and supported to reach their full potential. This belief is embodied in our play-up philosophy, where all teams compete in older age group competitions. This approach provides players with more opportunities to be challenged, make mistakes, learn, and grow. As a result, our players develop confidence and improve their speed of play, both mentally and physically.

We expect our athletes to always play at the next level—whether in youth competitions, college, or professional settings. Our focus is on developing the whole player by challenging and supporting them in four key areas: psychosocial, technical, tactical, and physical. This philosophy extends throughout the club, with younger players regularly training with older teams and earning meaningful opportunities in matches with higher age groups.
